Who is SOFFA?
The Southern Female Farmers Association (SOFFA) is a micro-enterprise initiative designed to support the development of self-employment through farming opportunities in America’s rural communities. Our co-operatives will give opportunities to low-income adults, dislocated workers, and veterans. It is our belief that identifying motivated individual farmers in the target population, low-income adults and dislocated workers, and aiding them in developing self-employment options will be the cornerstone for the continuation and expansion of other anti-poverty program concepts. Our efforts will allow low-income individuals to create their own employment opportunities through farming and will thereby create jobs for others in the process.
